This week we are looking at multiplication strategies. I would like you to use publisher to make a chart of the different strategies you can use to solve these problems below.

Term 2 Week 6
This week we are looking at playing games on sumdog maths. Don't forget to get your password off the wall above the computers.

Term 2 Week 4
This week you are going to make a pie graph using the information from how you spend your day and night.

REMEMBER you need to have a title and key. Half an hour is written as .5. Also because our printer is only black and white when the graph is finished right click on a section of the graph and click on format data point to change the pattern. Also see if you can work out how to put the % percentage amounts on each section.

When you have printed it out write 4 statements about the graph at the bottom of the page.

Here is an example from a boy called Jim. It needs to add up to 24hours or as close as possible.

Term 2 Week 1&2
This week we are going to make some more complicated graphs.
I would like you to use the information we have gathered to make an interesting graph using 2 variables. That means not only finding out who likes something but whether they are boys or girls or some other variable.

Success Criteria
1. Title
2. Axis titles
3. Save it as a chart
4. Remember it prints in black and white!

Design a playground
It must have -
1. 3 swings in a space of 10cm by 8cms.
2. A slide taking up a space of 15cm long by 10cm wide.
3. A spinning circle = 5cm in diameter in a space = 10cm in diameter.
4. A swimming pool 15cm by 14 cm (can be any shape within this area.)
5. A skating area with a perimeter of 48cms.
6. 2 seesaws with a perimeter of 34cms
7. A fort or some form of climbing frame with the area of 64cm2
8. A barbeque area measuring 18cm2.
9.Also add drinking fountains, paths and some flower gardens.

Term 1 Week 8/9


This week I would like you to reflect on your addition and subtraction ability. Tell me the letter (a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h) that you are up to as far as beng able to solve a problem of that type mentally. You can also tell me if you can do an algorithm or not.

For example - I might say - I am confident in solving problems for a,b, and c type questions but am not sure about d type problems. I am not sure how to do subtraction algorithm's with 2 digit numbers.


Then when you have done this i would like you to make a board game for you to play with your parent at home. This site How to make... has a section on making board games and a dice too if you want to. Remember the times tables you need to get better at.

Go to this page Classtools and make up your own game. You can either make a game that plays canon ball or miner. See if you can save your game to your folder. Get another classmate to play your game when you are finished. Good for times tables and division facts.
